Legal Tech Debate “Should law firms offer their clients Legal Tech development services?” – Madrid, Spain

February 15 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm

The European Legal Tech Association ELTA, the Instituto de Innovación Legal IIL and the Fundación para la Investigación sobre el Derecho y la Empresa FIDE present the debate:

Should law firms offer their clients Legal Tech development services?

In 2017, several foreign law firms have announced they were starting to provide their clients with legaltech development services, from within their own firms or creating some spin-offs. It is a clear trend in the legal industry, pushed by the needs of in-house lawyers who do not only require technical legal knowledge anymore, but also need some help choosing and building legaltech software to lighten up their daily workload.

Should law firms really extend their roles so much? How? What are the strategies adopted by the firms and, what are legal departments really expecting?
This topic will be discussed by the three renown experts Tobias Heining, founding member and board member of the European Legal Tech Association (ELTA) and director of Business Development & Communications (BD&C) at CMS in Germany, Marie Elisabeth Bernard, also a board member of the European Legal Tech Association (ELTA), CEO for Nextlaw Labs, previously Dentons’ European director of innovation, and Juan Riego, General Counsel and Board Secretary of Carrefour Spain.

The debate will be moderated by María Jesús González-Espejo, board member of the European Legal Tech Association (ELTA), founding partner of Emprendelaw and Instituto de Innovación Legal, and introduced by Cristina Jiménez Savurido, FIDE Foundation President.

This event will also serve as the official launch and presentation of the European Legal Tech Association (ELTA) in Spain. The mission of the Association will be exposed, as well as its activities, members and ambassadors.

The debate will take place on February, 15th from 2 PM to 4:30 PM at FIDE, Calle Serrano 26, 28001 Madrid. There are only 10 seats exklusive for ELTA members available. If you are interested in participating, please contact us via info@lta-online.eu.
